Mosaic course in the direct method
On this course you will be able to make picture to hang up, coasters, a bee, seahorse, a sign for the bathroom or bedroom. You can make a mixed media piece using gems or broken crockery. You can bring your own images and ideas and I will help you translate them into a mosaic design. If you have no idea what to make don't worry I have plenty of resources.
this course we will lay mosaic tiles right side up directly onto wood or another durable surface using strong PVA glue (interior mosaics) or cement-based adhesive (exterior mosaics). When the tiles are all in place the mosaic is grouted and cleaned to finish. This method is suitable for interior and exterior mosaics, and mixed media work. On this course you will learn the following steps:
- The direct method of mosaic making onto a durable surface.
- How to transform a design idea into a mosaic
- How to use mosaic tools
- How to cut and lay mosaic tiles
- How to apply basic techniques of andamento into your work.
- How to grout and finalise your work.
This workshop is suitable for mosaic novices as well as people who have experience of mosaic

You will have the opportunity during the day to chat about your future mosaic plans and projects and next steps in a relaxing atmosphere.
